Does anybody know where I can find the codes for gear ratios?
The father in law blew out the rear end in his burb and all he could give me was the numbers off the axle housing and from the ring gear.I need to try to find a replacement with the same gearing but I need to figure out what it is first.
Well, turns out he gave me the wrong #s.he also figured out that he has 3:73 gears in it.really appreciate all the help! Now just have to find a replacement.

That is what he gave me.Would it be 4.11s?
Also, will the rear from a blazer or pick up fit in a burb?

Unless I'm wrong, those numbers whould be the tooth count, So you divide 44 by 11 and you get 4, So that whould mean you have 4:10's[IMG]

    [IMG]Inline 6's are cool[IMG]

Yes the rear from a blazer or truck will fit a burb. Just make sure your spring perchs are in the same place and if you get one from hub to hub make sure the wheels match the studs.
I do know that rears from 1/2 ton vans are 3 inches wider than the others and you have to move their spring perches.
    Hope this helps.
