I have a 76 blazer, When I put the colum shifter in to #1 it grinds and "chunks" forward. this onlyhappens when it is in 1. there is nothing wrong when im in the D position in 2 or 4 wheel.? this has been like this for 4 years and I dont have a problem with the tranny other than that, so I dont use 1. Any body have any Ideas. Mystery problem. Thanks

    what tranny you have?
I'm figurin a TH350 first thing I'd do is check your
shifter linkage all the way to the trans and make sure its
clicking in the right positions and not wore or bent
worst case scenario would be a bad first gear
does it even go into first gear in drive or straight to 2nd

    If it ain't intimidating / It ain't a Chevy!
