I have a 1990.... 350 stock and was wondering where you guys set the timing? Do you set it at 0 deg BTDC like the lable on the truck says...and what happens when you retard the timing to much ....does your engine temp get hotter and RPM increase?.......thanks

does it run cooler or hotter....do the RPMS increase or does the motor rev higher or lower with that much advance?

you gotta realize where flblazer is from... you're NOT at sea level...

I would just call your local dealer for settings, or give twiztid a PM... he works at a dealership, and is an awesome mechanic at about the same elevation as you are.

Since yours is a 90, it has an electronic advance control. This means the computer will try to advance your timing as much as it can without allowing any pinging or overheating. You should set it as the label says or you'll limit the computers ability to adjust it.
