Im getting the 4" Shackle Flip from Echobit for christmas to get rid of my block in the back. Im also getting a set of front and rear 1" Zero Rate springs from OffroadDesign. Im going to need some help from people who have installed this stuff. What tools do i need? How many Jacks/stands, how hard is it. Stuff like that. And even a little better detailed instructions than echobit's, it kind of confuses me. Thanks alot.

Hey Jameson, the flip is a snap to install. The instructions are heavily detailed to try and cover all scenarios but only a few steps are actually used for the install, the rest are just sanity checks. Most people are using a high lift and doing one side at a time, which is a little harder than doing both on a lift ( due to spring twist and aligning the bolts) but how many people have access to a lift? If you take the high lift route, make sure you block all the tires, the truck is in park with the ebrake set, your on flat ground, the jack is placed in a secure area and you only jack the side up enough to unload the spring (not to lift a tire). Anything you can do to stabalize the frame, like jack stands, if they will reach, is good security. Once the leaf spring is unloaded, you can unbolt the u-bolts, shackle and both spring eyes and remove the leaf pack to install the zero rates. Simply bolt the shackle bracket to the bottom of the hanger using the included hardware and bolt the spring pack / shackle up below the stock hanger (instead of on top) to the flip bracket. Install your shorter U-bolts (since the blocks will be removed) along with any pinion angle correction and your done with that side. Do the same for the other side and your done. It looks a little daunting if you've never done it before, but its easier than you think. The only area that may give you trouble is if your stock shackle bolts are rusted in there, and of course the center pin on your leaf packs when you install the ORD zero rate.
