I can't find my book and want to remove my hubs. I have gotten as far as removing the cover, snap ring, and using a special socket removed the nut. What is next ?

There are two nuts to take off and some kind of lock washer that sit between the nuts. Then just pull the hub off. The washer won't turn, it just slides off.

How do I pull off the second nut? The first one came off with the expensive special tool.

    Lukerz,

Use the search button! There are many posts on this that even have pics.

Not sure myself, but you can find it if you 'search'.

    Good luck

All the ones Ive ever done used one socket for both nuts.

When you did a your search ... did you change the default setting to all posts? There's tons of stuff there! Also I'm pretty sure pre and post 86 are different! I could tell you how to do mine ... an 88 but that would not help you with an 83 (I think).

Also ... I'm presuming you mean you are removing your locking hubs ... not your hubs. Hubs held to rotors by the lugs!

    Wish I could help more.

Actually both and I am done. The washer seperating the two nuts has holes in it. I used my slip ring pliers to grab this washer to remove it an lo and behold I found the second nut. Now if I just fix the nut behind my wheel. Any suggestions on that???
    Thanks for all that helped

After you take that other inner nut off (the one behind the washer with holes in it, using the same socket as the outer nut, the hub will come right off. Well, obviously you will have to remove the caliper first.

Will work for beer, parts and tools.
