I am going to be herculinering the bottom 12 inches or so of the body on my truck today, hopefully I won't get any on my hootus. I think it will look good on my truck and I hope it turns out ok. I should have before and after pics up later today when I am finished if anyone is interested.

    Re: Herculinering my Jimmy

Sounds like a plan. BTW, if you want the herculiner to stay shiny...like it is after it dries, I *highly* recommend that you use some sort of UV protectant clear coat on the top of it after it dries. The Herculiner guys sell it, but any gloss-clear-coat-UV pro paint would prolly work. If you want it to be VERY flat black, np, just let it get some sun...it'll be flat in no time. ;)

That doesn't look bad at all. I like it. Did you just apply it with a roller or what?

I bought the kit, and it came with a gallon of herculiner, a roller, a brush, a scuff pad and a thing to open the can up.

Looks good! Did you have to prime for it at all or just scuff?

better make sure to seal the can good, or use it all or it'll seal itself.I had a quart and it got hard on top about three inches thick I had to use a can opener on the botton and add some xylene, BTW looks killer[IMG]

Looks great :) I'm planning on doing something similar but I've got to finish doing the bed first. Thanks for posting pics.

I had to get rid of the rust that started down there. Then I put primer on it and then it was ready.

That looks sweet! I like how you left the fender flares white. Man a lot of Herculiner here in MN/WI LOL... I am doing some right now on my truck, wakedog is too from waht I hear. I assume riz will be too as soon as he gets the floor in. Did you UV coat it?

Yes there is a lot of herculiner here in the MN/WI area. You definately need some kind of protection from the salt. I didn't UV coat it yet because I didn't know about that until after I went and bought all the stuff and then I ran out of time today. So I probably won't be able to do that until next weekend (hopefully).

You might want to keep it out of direct sun for the next week then, if possible. A week is just about the amount of time it took for my Herc to go from shiny-to-dull once I got the hardtop off. BTW, think you could get a picture of the herc on your rig from an angle? maybe with some light on it (sun or whatever)? The pics you posted are cool...but the details of the herc cant be seen very well, looks almost like it was just spray painted black in the pics. =p
