You payed money for 10 bolts, or you got them for free?

    Please tell me you didn't actually pay for a gov-locked 10 bolt. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Just curious, why did you change axles? It appeared to me that you didnt gain anything by swapping to those crated up axles except that maybe the internals in the differentials were newer.

I'm not trying to poke fun at you or anything, but why did you decide to paint them red? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I don't care that they are 10 bolts, if that's all the strength you need, then why go to a 14bff? That's why when my 10 bolt carrier bearings started to whine at me I just went with the D44/12 bolt combo. They've got plenty of strength for what I do with my K5 for now. I might upgrade to the 14 bolt in a couple of years, but what I have now is plenty. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

From what I can see of it, it looks like you've got a pretty nice rig too!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

All kinda of critics this morning.
Lets see, yellow was too bright?
I painted them red because there are three other black blazers in town and I wanted my to stick out. Also the reason I put the brake light lens and the flares on in case anyone was going to ask about them.

Glad I'm not the only one that likes for my truck to stick out in a crowd. My shop here at the base has over 100 people in it, and about 90% of them know what truck I drive. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I just looked through your website, your blazer is very very clean. I like it, I love the way stock wheels look with 12.50" wide tires. Yeah nice blazer, I like it. What did you do with the old front axle?

Looks like a clean blazer, if you plan to keep it nice then the 10 bolts will treat you right /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

10 bolts are fine if you plan to leave it stock or almost stock. Nothing wrong with that. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Some 2.5 ton Rockwell’s would have been nice though. But Boyce charges way too much compared to what they pay for them! Just ridicules really when you factor in a locker and disk brake kit.

I kept having friends waving and honking at the wrong blazers.

In Florida we dont have too many problems with rocks, and the way things are here it is getting harder to go 4x'ing anywhere. Very frustrating.
This is my main vehicle that I get around in. I mostly use it to help other people get out of there own problems.

I am glad you would not have done any of this, that keeps mine unique. That was the plan all along. Didnt want anyone else to look like mine.

If we are comparing these kinda things then none of use would care about the axles at all.

Going to sell both the front and rear assemblies, probably by parting them out since shipping the whole thing is a nightmare.

You are definately on the right track if it was cheaper or about the same price to get all new axles instead of fixing your old 10 bolts. Last thing you want to do is dump money into axles like that. And if these new ones are "new" like they said, you should get many years out of them.
