    HERE THEY ARE ! !
Here the pictures I took of my Blazer, from what I can tell it is still all stock, except for rock guards and sunroof (don't think it was an option was it? )

    1978 Blazer
Frost White/Black top Vinyl Blue interior (codes in glove box match)

    LS 9 350 4b
    TH 400
    NP 205
    Dana 44 warn hubs front
    GM 12bolt rear
    Factory 3.73 (code in glovebox)
31 Gallon Gas tank (code in glovebox)
    Power Windows/Locks
    A/C and Cruise

Seems odd to be standard color scheme, Is this unique in color?

    Thanks

That can't be stock...can it? I didn't think that any NP205's got put behind autos in 73-79. I also thought that the autos were TH350's. Did they put TH400's in a few Blazers too?

    Don\'t know

I do know it came with factory warn hubs (option list in glove box)and it is the original engine (numbers match on engine) With no other real signs of abuse what is the likely hood of having to replace the tranny and transfer case? There is no lift at all, shocks very old, Does have 31" tires and tow hitch so don't really know :) Any info anyone has would be great, love learning stuff about my vehicle :)

    Re: Don\'t know

That transmission pan looks like a TH350 to me, and the xfercase loos like a NP203 to me also, except for the drain plug?
Stock Warn hubs huh??? maybe it is a 205, I'd have to see one up close again.
it really looks like you've got a fixer upper there, we'll have to get together and compare rigs and bs some saturday.
maybe set up a little get together, You, Blue Knight and Myself.

It's a np 205, you can spot them by the small circular cover plate which is attached with 3 bolts.

Is it a trailering special? It will have a badge on the rear 1/4 thats says that. I belive with that option you did get the TH400 and I think it got a 400 engine also. 3.73 gears with a locker and heavy duty rear springs. I have only ever seen one and it was a 78. Didn't really pay attention to what it had in it. It was white with blue interior and white top.

It was my understanding that the TH400 didn't come in any 1/2 tons. Or so one of my 4wheeling magazines said so. And I've never heard of Warn Hubs coming from the factory.

    It\'s a TH400

I had one in my camaro, look closely, not a square pan with a corner gone, and the pan says right on it TH 400 :P Yes this sight is cool and we should get together and compare sometime. I will get a picture of the option code in the glovebox tonight after work, ran out of space in the digital camera last night. The only emblem it has on rear 1/4 panel is the cheyenne emblem. Anyone know what came with cheyenne package? I know it is stock because again itis in the option list :) Thanks

    Re: It\'s a TH400

It is an NP205 and a TH400. Cool truck. Real good starting point for a buildup. Would be interesting to know if the tranny / t-case are stock, as that would have to be very rare.

My '78 has a towing package. Mine came with 400 small block, with TH350 trans, and NP 203 case. Had a factory hitch on the rear, trailer wiring, oil and trans coolers, locking dif. I have the factory rear roll bar. Mine was frost white with woodgrain and Cheyenne package plus red interior.

I would have to agree, that is an NP 205 case and TH 400 trans.

Re: Here are the option codes from glove box

Did you ever consider it was ORDERED from the factory with those options? The "sunroof" is definitely not stock. Towing packages were an option then, so it was probably special ordered. My '78 Cheyenne has nice interior panels verses the stripped look. You can probabably get panels at you local auto parts recyceler (junk yard).

Nice project man! I have a 78 K5 myself. I'll be glad to help with any information. I see yours is power everything. Mine is manual windows/door locks, but I'm going to convert everything to power as I get the chance.

Where do you see warn hubs on the glove box list. the mx1 code is for the turbo 350 th400's code is m-40. All 1/2 ton automatics have 203 t-case. It's still a nice blazer and the trans and the 205 are a bonus.
