Just messing with my Jam Cam so I can get used to downloading the pics on this site. Pics of my 85 K30 are soon to follow. Other pics of my Brown Turd 82 K30 will be scanned before putting them on the site.

This truck is currently sitting in my back yard. Future mods are to include 35" Boggers, 6" front and rear springs, a built 454, and a whole bunch of ORD stuff.

Pic changed to url to help out Steve! [IMG]

I wish it was still mine! [IMG] Looking foward to see what it will look like when your finished. Is the 454 block salvageable? I know that one rod didn't look to good. I have a 454 crank rods and pistons (.030 over) if you need parts. I'm glad your happy with her.

Now... lets see some pics (or links) of your nice 85 K30!

Thanks to everybody for the comments! [IMG] I definitely will let everybody know how and what progresses I am making as we go along.

Shawn, haha, the motor is TOAST!!! [IMG] After the truck got home, I took all the parts to the storage shed and started to disassemble the block. Noooooo, the flywheel had a bunch of gouges and grooves on the block side of it and so I removed it. WOW!!! Right there with the flywheel removed, you can see the freeze plug and boss area for the rear of the cam shaft HAD ALL BLOW OUT!!! [IMG] The broken pieces sat in the back between the block and flywheel and sat there spinning, breaking everything while it was turning! Haha! I also noticed while the block was laying upside down, number 7 and 8 rods were broke and just sitting in there at the top of the crankcase!!! The crank had been spinning and hitting the rods while they were broke!!!! The rods are worn and "shiny" too! [IMG] [IMG] Also, the 7 and 8 cylinder walls had some good sized cracks in them too!!! Oh man! This was too cool to see!!! [IMG] So, to make a long story short, the bottom end is history and everything else is salvagable!!! No problem, as I have a few big blocks sitting around here anyways!!! I had a great laugh looking at all those findings!!!! LOL! [IMG]

DAMN! I had no idea the motor was in such bad shape. All I could see was the cam was broken and a rod had somehow wrapped itself around the cylinder wall. Thats pretty amazing! I'd really like to know what in gods name the previous owner was doing to that engine before it blew its guts out. May it rest in peace! <sniff> Glad to hear you have another block. Sounds like you'll have some good discussion pieces to place on the coffee table! [IMG] Let me know if you find any problems with the tranny, t-case or axles. If you do, I'd be willing to give you back some of your money.

That will make a great truck when it is done... Not sure how many else would like to see it now that you have the digital camera working... But I'd like the photo tour of Wes' toy/truck-land[IMG]. Sounds like you have a great little collection of parts, trucks, etc. around there. "aww I got quite few BBC's lying around here..." I'm jealous! How the heck did Rene manage to leave after only 3 hours? LOL

I will get those 46" tire pics scanned by a co-worker who has one at home and get them posted! You are gonna like these! BTW, Rene saw these pics and you would have to ask him what he thinks!!! [IMG]

Cap, I will take a shot of my garage after I get some axles from outside put back into the garage. I will also take a pic of my space at the mini-storage shed, too! The other pics of some other parts trucks are out at the folks farm and nothing really to see cuz they are just plain 'ole farm trucks.

Let me see if I can get the pics and scanning downloaded by this weekend. [IMG]
