    my son wanted to go down to the beach so we went but i couldnt resist running her through the water. that was fun but then i started to think about the salt. besides a wash down with fresh water what else can be done ?

    Just do like I did wait a couple years and cut the rusted area out with a sawsall!!!!!!!!!

    Personaly, I stay away from the water. As far us occasional "salt watering" a good wash off would help.. maybe some wax, under coating. OR, if you go with a good coating of mud, that can help too... it does for me.. LOL

    I ALWAYS pressure wash my undercarriage and wheel wells etc. everytime that I get back from the beach. I didn't think it would matter if I didn't actually go in the water, but the mist and sand were enough to rot out my '78 after only a week! Pay attention to the seams in the body, those places are the first to go. Some times I don't even wash the body of my truck, just the underside!

    You're only hope is to find a nice freshwater stream or pond to go romp your truck through now. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

    It will be fine just don’t make this a habit power wash the thing very well and get in the cracks ASAP and get the salt off it is very sticky . I lived in ocean city NJ for 21 years and what year truck the newer the better. fill out your p file some more
