How do you like the 454 TBI? Any noticable difference (other than the fire(s)? Is it a bolt on? Did you change the ECM?

LMAO...

you know I like it, but I'm not convinced it was worth the money. the guy at Turbo City recommended it, and unless you are going to take the intake to somebody who is going to machine the ports so they are the same size as the TBI ports I don't see that it would be that big of a deal...

this TBI was $529 from turbo city (have to add a custom burnt chip, so add another 350)... I think you could do a TPI setup with a custom chip for close to the same price. if I had to do it all over again I would have went that route. (check out BlazzinOR's TPI setup, man he's got a 406 with TPI that looks sweet!!!)

if you don't really wanna go multi port injection, and don't wanna do TPI then for a grand summit has a multi port conversion from Edelbrock.

that 454 TBI caused me some good headaches. first of all I got the new intake for the vortec heads & TBI, the ports were not big enough so I had to hone out the top, and even then it isn't as big as as the TBI ports so it is going to bottle neck anyway... I didn't have a reliable vehicle so I couldn't take it to a machine shop... and then I'm not sure it wouldn't have had problems with the water passages.

then there isn't an accomodation for the 700r4 linkage so that has to be worked up.

I guess with the smaller ports I am still not convinced that this thing was even neccessary, and even if you do a cheapest scenario then you can do the 350 TBI with matched injectors & hones out for better flow for just $229...

    any other questions???
