Hey i was just thinkin, i know its scary, but why dont we try to put together a list of area contacts from around the usa? I think it would be handy for us all, someone to look over a vehicle close to them we are interested in or pick up parts that are won from auctions with no shipping offered. We could do this on a sign up basis, so no one has to do it if they dont want. I know i would go and look over something for someone if it was fairly close. Just an idea. So post up and tell me what you guys think???????

I would be willing but i can see a downfall.

Some people don't know as much as they think...would you want them to tell you the part/truck/car/tires...are in good shape and exactly what you are looking for only to find out that you just bought a rusty Yugo with Cut-Out flares and Yosemity Sam (Back Off) mud flaps.....

I can see that downfall too, but of course take it with a grain of salt. Like you would the owners info. If the owner says frame off resto, perfect condition, and then the ck5 guy says rusted out pos..........then yeh.....somethings rotten in denmark. But if the ck5 says really nice shape, you can assume it is good.

    I would sign up.

    Canada - Province(orwhatever) - Whateveracanadiantownsnameis - Canmore

Yeah i take most things with a grain of salt. Either way i think we should do a list. It could come in handy. I also think that including e-mail adresses would be a good addition. Some people only check the BBS once in a while and if you need info in a hurry e-mail could be faster.

I could put it together in Excel pretty fast if everyone post's up here or e-mails thier info to me. Then it could be e-mailed to Steve for posting. I am sure it would need to be PW protected to avoid the spam nightmare, or posted in the bloddy knuckle.

About 4+ yrs ago "Panther" (iirc) tried to do something like this. It was a map of the U.S. and you would click on a state and it would show everone that lived in that state. i.e. click on Oklahoma and 4gunz4x4z, Skulznbonz, okiemuddog, etc etc, would pull up. I don't think it was ever finished, wait I know it was never finished. Good idea, but....

I think if we do it we should try to do it with phone numbers if everyone agrees. It would be damn handy for the traveling ck5'er who has a problem. I agree that it could be a downfall trusting someone elses opinion, but i would trust a fellow ck5'ers opinion waaaayyyy b4 i would trust someone trying to make a few dollars on a sale!!!!!

by the way i agree santa rocks :xmas:

Be carful guys, a list like that could provide bad people locations of good parts to take. It needs to be something fairly general that doesn't provide any oportunities for thiefs.

I posted an idea like that a while back in the Feedback forum. Someone linked a site that already exists. It is set up as a cross country contact list for fellow 4wheelers.

Here's My thread with the link to that site.

That site is definitely a good idea but I was thinking about something like a list to put in the Bloody Knuckle so it has limited access. Make it a perk of being a paying member.

I remember that too... Not sure if it was Panther or not though.... It was a good idea and set-up.. Too bad no one ever carried on with it. The site even had listed what type of garage set-up and tools each person had and their abilities(what they put down)...

All you'd need to do is start a thread with info on what each person was willing to offer and their location.

I'd be willing to join in if the info was kept semi-private but I don't think I'd want my phone number or address posted in the garage (or a site).

I don't have alot of stuff to offer anyone just work on my old truck in my yard and it is a old beater and daily driver both. But if someone needed a hand i would help all i could with my tools or a place to stay. Even a trailer to get your rig off the road. Just hard to get off work sometimes to help. Not worried about the address or phone # I got 27 dogs and caller id:haha:
