There is a rule of thumb for tire width compared to rim width but it does not have an appreciable effect unless the truck is driven on the street alot. If you put a wide tire on a narrow rim it will tend to cause the tread to "crown" thus wearing the center of the tire out first. I however have 15X8 rims and currently run 37X12.5X15 MTRs and I plan to run staun internal beadlocks and 42" TSLs. Rim width and tire width are personal preference to a point. As far as what tires should you get? Well that all depends on what kind of wheelin you want to do. Try the search there are about 10-15 tire post every month on here.:D

What size rim do you have now. Generally speaking a 10" wide rim will work for any tire from 12.5" wide all the way up.
