Can anybody tell me the advantages/disadvantages of replacing my stock catalytic converter with a high flow one to go with a new Flowmaster Force II cat-back system for my '90 K5? All I know is that I have to pass emissions for many many years to come.
    Thanks in advance

I can't tell you about it but I'm planning on getting the exact same system. I can't imagine it could hurt anything. I bet with putting a high flow cat will make a big difference along with the high flow muffler. Well, just saying that we both have the same idea and whoever gets theirs on first should tell the other what they think.

Good, that makes me feel better. Any idea of which cat to get? I am looking at a hedman from carparts.com, or a catco from summit. I hope to get the whole new system on there in a month or so when I have the extra cash kicking around

I have a Catco on mine and it definately made it louder, probably gained a little power but not really enough to notice. I think it was worth it though.
