At high speed(85+) there is a noticeable vibration in my k5. I hear a noise I can't explain and after i let off I got a wierd smell I never smelled before. It was almost like some of the smells in the metalshop in school. THe idea of the smell of metal being cut scares me. The truck always has a vibe between low 30s and like 45 and I mean a bad one. You can see the steering wheel shaking and the console vibrates like crazy. Anyone have thoughts? Gonna check my rear fluid level but it should be fine.

some tarus pissed me off pretty good, she decided to do 25 in a 40 till we hit the on ramp. I dropped into second gear stomped on it and listened as the secondaries did their thing. People that do 10 under the speed limit really make me mad. ANd I always seem to get stuck behind them when I can't pass. I would really like to have someone drive my k5 before i get rid of it and have them pass me in a car cause I want to see what its like when that thing goes ripping past you singing at 4000 rpms.

nah crazy is my 2 friends. One with an 8" lifted f150 on 35s and the other with a 91 GMC 3" body 3" suspension on 35s also. Both doing about 120 down a major cop road. No cops that night hammer down the whole way I think my buddy said he hit 4000rpms and he runs 3.24 or something gears on 35s.

actually the problem usually ends up being little cars driving too fast for their handling characteristics or old people doing stupid stuff. I know how to drive the k5 and how not to overdrive it. I only hit higher speeds on real long straights that i know very well. of course its not very safe anyway

[/ QUOTE ] and what do you call doing 85-100 in a lifted blazer? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif those little cars can take the speed better than our big trucks /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif but i do agree some old people should not be on the road

Did you look at the steering stabilizer? My '77 would act up when it went bad..

Slow down fool ! There are to many things out there that you have no control over. Like deer, other animals, nails, or whatever.

Just think how many parts you can buy with your insurance savings for a clean record!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

    Good luck with your problem....

PSS... If your truck acts like that, are you driving 100 to really make the problem break good so you know exactly what it is???? I hope none of my relatives are around....
