I have recently had a problem with some of my lights going out when I hit bumps, when I taped the gauge lens hard they would come back, on, sometimes they would come back on on there own, but when I hit a bump, they would go out again. i took the whole dash apart lookig for the problem and found it to be a bad conection in the little plastic pieces that hold the bulbs in. so, I took them out and bent the metal prongs in them in as far as I could so when I put the bulb back in, it would touch more, then I put them back in. I also used duct tape peices to tape the printed circut in palce on the back of the guage holder thing to keep everything from moving around as much. They dont go out any more. Just a few things to start checking, although if yours all went out, it does sound like more of a switch problem than a bad conection at every bulb. Good luck.

    Maybe it is a fuse.

That sucks. I rolled my truck 6 times and even both dome lights still worked /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
Anyways just messing with you. Does you light still come on down at the t-case shifter. You know the one that is connected to the dash lights? If not I would say a fuse ot a light switch. I had that happen on my Firebird, but I lost running lights as well.

Just give the dashboard the "Fonzie Tap". Works like a charm.
For a more permanent fix, take the dash apart and start looking for loose connections.

have you checked the blinker fluid or it could be a bad muffler bearing /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

There is a plug in on the back of the instrument cluster next to the speedo cable. Reach back there and make sure that it is all the way plugged in. Worked for me.

Hey my suburban does this neat little trick where the dashlights and headlights flicker and then the seatbelt light on the dash comes on for a second. It will do it for a while, then just stop for a month or so.... I'm reasonably sure it's the H/L switch, but why the seatbelt light comes on is a mystery to me...

    Good luck finding it!

tried that! guess i just dont have the touch for the dash lights.
i do however have to smack the hood just right after you pull the latch to get it to pop up. had to go out of town on business today, so had no time to investigate.
will try the plug first then start at the head light switch.
are teh dash lights on an isolated fuse or do they share with other stuff??

YOU WILL NEVER FIX IT. even if you do it will happen again. BUY a flashlight. TAPE it down. =) its not pretty but it works.
