The directions for the Holley carb that I picked up to put on the new longblock I bought said not to use an adapter bracket to go to the rochester manifold as this could cause performance problems.

Has anyone done this? Any problems? Should I go get a new intake manifold?

Has no one used one of these adapter brackets to put a Holley on a dissimilar intake? Can you think of any reasons why it wouldn't work?

I haven't installed the carb yet so I can still take it back. Trying to get some input before I make a bad $200 decision.
