I'm currently rebuilding my 350 and i have a holley contendor manifold. Does anyone know the specs of this intake? If i remember correctly, it is a dual plane, but it has been awhile since i have seen it. It is currently in storage. What i was mainly wanting to know is, what is the rpm range of this manifold? I'm thinking it was the same as a perfomer, idle to 5500 rpm, but i'm not sure. I checked holley's website, but there was nothing about the contendor as they don't make this intake anymore. I looked for an e-mail, but didn't see one. Any info on this would be appreciated!

    thanks

ive got a holley book from 89 have you got a strip contender or street contender?either way it seems theyre single plane it looks like the strip cont is and i quote"a true racing manifold".the street version is i guess streetable.i personally use perf rpm and like em still has good low rpm torque and throttle response but will sing to the top no prob.its just my preference.unless your buildin a hi rev bogger id go w/ a dual plane.itd be more friendly to lorpm tourqe.look in the big tires post someone asked about my motor(check signature)and i gave a pretty good run down of my combo.

I'm assuming that it is the streetable, because it has several holes that have to be plugged in the intake. Does it say what RPM range the streetable is?

    thanks

no it doesnt (that i can find anyway)but for the most part single planes are 3000 rpm up.they just dont respond well for torque.i can understand "use what you got"but if you dont have to,get a dual plane.youll prob lose low end with single plane.id almost use stock int over a single plane for off road.once again my opinion.anyone else got input???BTW strip contneder will have an air gap under the runners.

I think the "Street Contender"-manifold is the predecessor of the "Street Dominator" (PN 30038).
    I´ve got a "Street Dominator" on my 350. It is a dual-plane with an rpm-range of idle-4800, just right for a K5.
I guess Holley just changed the name, because 30038 was also the (old) PN of the "Street Contender".
The intake works very well, I instantly felt an improvement over my old cast-iron stock one.

    Engine modifications are as follows:

Weiand Cam (don´t remember the PN), specifications are 204/214 @ 0.050, .420/.442 lift
Holley Street Dominator Dual Plane intake
Holley 600 cfm 80457 carb (I don´t do any rockcrawling, mainly mud, so I junked the Quadrajet in favor of a few more hp)
K&N open air filter (only used in the summer, in the winter I use the original air cleaner lid due to warm-up problems)
    1.5-inch Headers
2.25-inch Dual Exhaust (no h-pipe) with Dynomax Super Turbos

With this setup, 33-inch Cooper Radials and 3.73 gears and a TH350 I got 11-12 mpg.

The engine worked well with my old 33-inch tires, but now I am in the process of building a 468 to get my new 38,5 Swamper SXs moving a little bit faster. I recently drove a friends 454-equipped 77 Burban and could not believe the difference.

    Thanks again,

I found the cam holley suggests to use w/ their intake. Summit says it isn't available yet, and Jeg's says that it is discontinued. Although, Jeg's did cross it over to a Lunati cam part # 638-00018, but they didn't have the specs for it. I looked on-line and couldn't find anything on the cam at all.
