Hood insulation?

    Hmm, let's see....

    Get's wet on river crossings and falls on your engine.
    Great place for mice to build a nest.
    Holds dirt that then gets all over you when you're under the hood.
    Shows that grease line from oil leaking from the a/c compressor.

    Oh yeah, I think the GM engineers installed it to minimize engine noise. [​IMG]

    I think it also keeps the heat down from the engine. It can get pretty hot in there and I don't think all that heat would be good for you paint if you want to keep it pretty. I don't have mine and the paints seems ok, excluding the hail dents, gravel chips, and a poor job of touch up paint. I'm still gonna get a new one for mine, yes I know I'm nuts. (I don't notice any noise difference either).

    Am asking because I took mine off awhile ago, because it was dusty and falling down. Haven't noticed any difference in temp or noise........
