I saw this idea posted in another forum with no responses to it from management. Plenty of positive responses from members tho.

How about a Fabricators Forum where fellow fabricators can share ideas, beginning fabricators can learn new techniques, resources can be centralized there for fabrication of everything related to our beautiful trucks and hobby.

Re: How about a Fabricators Forum??

Well I dont make anything to sell, just build for myself. But I was referring to the exchanging of ideas and processes to help both experienced and non-experienced fabricators alike. Any buying/selling can be done on the PM level, but I think that specifically using a "Fabricators" forum to sell stuff would be inappropriate.

The exchange of ideas. I tend to get my fab knowledge from that "other" website, not that I'm knocking it, but it would be great to have fab discussions over here. You know the general stuff, DOMvs.ERWvs.Pipe for cages debates, what size wire and type for your MIG welder, where to buy tube, how to build 4-links, stuff like that. Now any buying and selling that would result from this forum, if kept in the PM area would be cool.

I second that idea. I like to fabricate, and I have a lot of experience designing ( I am an Architect and Engineer ) and executing, but I also learn a lot from people here.
    You can never know enough.

Thats the one and it was an idea for a "Fabricators Yellow pages". I was talking about a forum for fabricators to share ideas and techniques on. Not sell their stuff. This would of had no affect on paying advertisers which is what Steve responded about.

Now that Steve has responded to this post then I guess its a dead idea for now. Oh well...

we've already got 2 of them, they're just so far diluted with crap, it's hard to get anything useful out of them. I was under the impression that the Garage was actually going to be a place where awesome tech posts were moved so they would stay current, instead of just another 2nd gen 4x4 forum. Oh well though.
