what is meant by spring lenghts? eye to eye? at what state (flat, relaxed, ect.)? I have a pair of 2x4 chevy springs our of a 1980 longbed and want to measure them.

It's eye-to-eye (in a straight line - NOT along the length of the spring). For example, my 'burb has 56" rear springs....the springs measured 56" eye-to-eye both in and out of the vehicle (give or take a small amount).

It is eye to eye along the surface of the main leaf as if it was flat.

thanks all. I think I will need both measurements when I do my homeade shackle flip so that I can see that my shackle dons't bind through the entire spring flex.
