How are the factory tow hooks supposed to be mounted on the K5?

My '88 K5 didn't come with tow hooks, but I got a pair for next to nothing, including an air dam with corresponding cut-outs that mine didn't have. Here's a small picture of them so you'll know the kind I'm talking about. There's one left and one right type. Now, I may be stupid, but I can't figure out how to mount 'em on the frame! Does anybody by any chance have a picture of them mounted to guide me along? I figured that the hooks could be bolted to any K5 frame, but maybe extra holes were drilled in the frame at the factory if tow hooks were chosen as an option? Anyone care to enlighten me?

they bolt up where the bumper bolts up, your best bet is to install the air dam, then you will see what we mean...

youd have to do some modding, drill some holes and maybe a lil cutting but nothing major.

s/d hooks are nice, but stock ones are real nice because you dont have to fish a strap through the hook if its underwater or mud...

The only experience I have with factory chevy hooks is when I hooked my 93 diesel furd to the front of a friends 82 chevy pickup, with the stuck 99 superduty behind him. With me and my friend pulling, guess what happened?
The towhooks shaped like an S bent right up through his bumper.
I have never liked them, and they defy all logic in my mind for a strong pull point.

BUT, they are easy to find, and easy to bolt on.
Just don't ask me to do a full bore yank with 60 feet of strap hooked to that recovery point.
