I found some for a really good price. I just don't know the overall quality of JBL subs these days.

    I've got a mind like a . . . a . . . what's that thing called?

jbl subs are ok.. they are a entry level sub... nothing really special about them but they are better then other junk out there.. what price where you give and what size.. Alot of time places like circuit city, best buy runs a buy one get one of the same price or less for free...

I completely agree with Prembird on both accounts. If the price seems too good to be true...then its junk. That saying especially applies to car stereo stuff.
What were you thinking of buying Lara? Couple of 10's or 12's maybe?

The subs and amps were stolen out of the camaro. It's Nick's car and he wants to stay with 10's. I had found somewhere that they were selling 10" JBL's for 59 bucks, but then found a buy on get one free for 79 bucks. It will be a little bit before we get some new subs. Thanks for the warning about Mobil blah blah (what's their name again?). I've never heard of them so I raised an eyebrow and then they were really cheap which made the eyebrow go higher [IMG]. I really would like to put some MTX subs in the camaro but I don't know if they make a free air sub which is what we need.
Any ideas of a good but affordable free air 10"?

What year camaro is it... If it is the late 80's model there are a couple of boxes that will drop right into the rear well of the car.. I have seen these and have heard them.. it is impressive.. They have them from 8 in. subs all the way to 12's... only down side is you dont have any storage space left.. Now i had a 88 firebird... which i had a system in.. I had 2 12's sitting on the flat part in the back.. then went to a single 12 in a tube down in the well... Sounded very very very good once i put it down in the well.. the single 12 sounded better then the 2 12's i had in there... Now in order to get the tub down in there i had to loosen the rear panel and take off one of my tie downs for the t-tops... and once it was in there i put the tie down back on and tighted everything up.. it is a very snug fit and no one will ever see it.... Let me know what year you have.. i would suggest a single 12 in the well instead of dual 10's in the camaro if it is in the late 80's body style...

Sorry to hear you got stolen. I hate those bastards!

I used one 10" JBL GT subwoofer in my Blazer. It sounded OK, but not nearly as good as my Rockford Fosgate. I can't say I'm comparing apples to apples because the poor JBL was in a crappy box and pushed by a Jensen amp which also powered the main speakers. Now I'm using a very nice built box and a single profile amp which pushes more watts than it really needs.

I'm using a Mobile Authority crossover I bought cheap on Ubid. It's exaclty what I needed and sounds very clean. It has all the knobs I need and would otherwise cost a lot $$$. Everyone that listens to my stereo gives me the thumbs up. The tuning has a lot to do, though. I recommend the crossover, don't know about the rest of their stuff, though.

Ive got them in my panels right now but will eventually move the rear 2 up to the front and replace them with a couple of subs... Anyway I checked a few minutes ago and the site didnt have any listed but you may want to call them Ive seen JBL subs and MTX subs on the site in the past... Good luck

We went to best buy the other day and listened to a 10" in a bandpass. WOW!!! That sounds awsome!!! We're gonna figure out how to fit a band pass back there. Any suggestions?
