Run your tank dry and then fill it up /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Im not sure running the tank dry would be a bright idea... ESP. on a diesel. But I think you have a 27 gallon tank, if I'm wrong, someone will correct me.

Run it down to 1/8th of a tank. Fill it up. If it takes over 25 gallons you have the larger 31 gallon tank. If it takes between 20 and 23 gallons you have the smaller 25 gallon tank.

You can always go measure how far down the tank hangs from the frame. The 31 gallon tank on my 81 Jimmy hangs down 7 1/2" from the bottom of the frame. The smaller tank is the same length and width, just not as deep...

    Hey Rene
I thought the same but I was reading the other day and it said the 6.2l blazer came with the 27galon tank, only option.
I would like to do more searching to confirm.
I have the 31 galon because mine is converted from gasoline.
The 40 galon only came on the Suburban because they have a little more overhang to fit it.

I think all civie K5's came with 31 gallon tanks and the CUCV's came with 27 gallon tanks. I'm pretty sure, but not 100%. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Well these guys have your tank size nailed, in regards to your tranny cooler it will greatly extend the life of your 700r4. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Heat /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif is the #1 failure of transmissions over time. Especially the 700r4 I believe. correct me if I'm wrong.
