how many people live in the town where your address is?

i live in a "big city" of about 700. i live right in town. we have 2 gas stations, a grocery store, a bowling alley/ice cream shop. auto parts store, hardware store, vidoe store, family resturant, bar, lumber yard, tire shop, grain elevator, funeral home, 2 repair places, 2 barber shops, post office and a bank. there also is a lake 2 blocks from my house. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif there is no stop sign, not even a blinking light.

if we want any type of fast food (McDs, BK, subway) i have to drive 10 miles.

Louisville just merged (last year) with Jefferson County, so we're now the 16th largest metropolitan area in the country with over 1 million people. I think the old city limits had around 270,000. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

im not sure about population, but in the general area, which is probably 100 square miles, i'd say theres about 50,000 of us. we have a walmart, must mean we're a real town /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I just moved from a city of 100K to a town of 1400. When I get out of school, I'll be moving to a town of about 800.

I guess the best part is that my beat area is just over a thousand square miles and there's maybe 5000 people in all of that area.

i know how that goes. we used to have 1 cop in town and he would switch between driving the city car or a sheriffs car. when i got pulled over by him, 1st time i got a ticket, after that i got nothin /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif
now the county budget got cut so they had to layoff 4 cops, and i think he retired. but now there are no cops in town.

Clinton has about 27,000 people and is a long, skinny town along the Mississippi.

We have most of the fast food joints and plenty of shopping. The big news lately is that we are getting a Home Depot! /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
