I amd putting the finishing touches on my 454 before I install it...I routed the plug wires tonight through the looms...I was just curious what a good margin of safety is for the distance of the plug wires from the headers...I am running a set of Thorley Tri-Y's and on the drivers side, one wire boot only has like 1/2" of clearance...is this enough or should I invest in some insulation wrap for the wires? The rest of the wire have at least 3/4" of clearance...

I just don't wanna roast my new set of MSD wires, ya know /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif?

I have one wire that has run for about 2 months about 1/8" from the header. No problems. Just can't touch.
