Every chance you get lock and load!!
I broke mine in by dirvin on the pavement in 4x. I stayed out of the throtle when turning and tried to keep it nice and easy and as straight of driving as possable. I only drove for 10 min the first time then from there increased to 20 min 30 min etc...
I change the diff oil in front the same time I changed the back (500 on rear). I did see the metal flakes(brakin dust) in front also so I know it "broke in" also.
Finding a lond dirt road/fire road is your best bet probly.

I did mine by driving in 2HI but with the hubs locked. This causes the gears to turn. I did that for a while. Then, after the first wheeling trip, I serviced the oil like I did for the rear at 500.

I agree, just drive around as much as you can with the hubs locked. Or in 4 wheel if it is feasible for you.

I just went out and hammered on it. :-)

Didnt have enought time for break in.
