I got a tachometer for my truck to go where the OEM one should go. I cant figure out how to get the knob off my light switch. The windshield wiper knob came off in my hand but the light knob will not come off. Its probably real easy but im just dumb. A little help please.

its been a while since i had replaced my switch, so i may not be correct. i think you reach up behind the dash and depress a little button on the switch, and then the rod and button will pull out. if i'm wrong i'll probably corrected quite quickly.

Naranja, yer right ..theres a button that you depress thats on top off the housing that the shaft slides thru.reach up behind dash and feel for that housing, the button will be spring loaded and depress that and it'll pull right out..seems to me the only real trick was the knob had to either be all the way in or all the out while depressing.I think all the way in ....also that wiper knob that fell off in your hand should have a allen setscrew that locks it down..

Thanks guys but i read the post to late. I just ripped the knob off and then epoxy glued it back on. Oh well. No harm done.
