How do I show it to them first of all but second how do i make sure they dont take my Idea. (I wont have the money or tooling to make a production ready unit.Id have to sell it to them and have them "refine" it). /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif So if anyone had any ideas on how to go about this i would love to here.

you'd have to get a patent. I'm trying to get more information, I'm in your boat also, thought of a good product but don't want to get it stolen.

My Uncle does things like this for Nokia. I forget the exact verbiage but the industry standard is to have them sign a no compete clause. I know that is not what it is called. There is an exact phrase that you can use and look like you know what you are doing. Anyways, you have them sign something so they won't steal your idea. I know this because he learned it the hard way when Sony back doored an idea he presented to them for Nokia.

He is out of town right now so I can't ask him the exact phrase. Sorry, I hope that helps a little.

I believe the term you are looking for is a propritery(sp?) agreement.

my dad is going thru a patient search for something of his right as we speak, cost is anywhere from $3000 - $10,000, all depends on the product and the length of the search they have to do.

Have the idea sent from your lawyers office, then you have it on record.
