How do you check if Axle U-Joints are bad?

    I tried seeing if the front tires had any play but they didn't.

    On the set I just picked up, it's easy. Look for the one with the missing bearing cap lol.

    Sorry can't help you more, but I know on the locking hub vehicles, you can reach in there and spin the axleshaft by hand, I did last night....maybe if the joint is shot, and you locked the hubs, you could "feel" any play in the u-joint.
