how do you get this little ring gear thingy off from the hub?

    ok im trying to get ot my wheel bearings to replace them and i took the locking hub of..and i need to get that gear thing out to..but that other round clip that goes over the axle is blocking it and they wont come of...heres a pic of what im talking about..

    how do i get that round thing with the gears on it of? i need ot do it to get the rest of the caliper of and stuff..sorry i dont know what its called..first time doing this.. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

    <font color="green"> If you've gotten the outer snapring out, then just screw a couple of the bolts back into it and use them as little handles. Hard to grab the thing without doing that. </font>

    Did you remove the big lock ring that holds it in? It fits between the locking hub parts and the inside of the hub itself. In the pic it looks like its still in there.

    you mean the really really bigest one? yea i guess its in there cuause its getting blocked by something..how the heck do i get it out? thanx!

    <font color="green"> That's what I meant by "outer snapring". It should be pretty easy to get out by just pushing the hub assembly in, then use a little screwdriver to pry the snapring out. </font>

    i gotem both out tonight guys thanx for ur help! ur right it is pretty easy...tomrrow im ganna repack them and putem back in..they look pretty good to me..allthoough they could have used a little taking up with the adjusment spacer things..and one side was way less greased than the other....which was also the side making the racket..
