I think they are glued on after the 80's . I see lots of later GM stuff missing emblems , but they have the outline of said emblem left behind , and the sticky stuff all dirty where it was /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

just use one of those electric paint stripper heat guns and GENTLY warm the old emblem while GENTLY leavering up one end. As the glue warms it'll lift away from the sheetmetal. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Pretty sure on my '88 they clipped into the plastic side trim with some metal clips. Do the new ones have two lugs on the back?

I believe the 3500 emblems do not fit the trim for the silverado package. I bought some for my suburban that doesn't have that trim and just peeled the sticker off & stuck them to the door.

On my burb, the current 2500 emblems are mounted on the trim. I assume one I remove them its gonna look ugly but we'll see. I guess my options are, remove 2500's and stick 3500s on door above trim, or find some way to stick the 3500s on top of the old spot. No, the 3500s do not have little studs on the back, they are flat.

The 3500 emblems were designed to mount on the door itself. The 1500 & 2500 could be mounted in the silverado trim.
