I believe on the center section if you are looking at it from the rear... at the cover... on the right hand lower side there should be a number casted into the center section of the housing...(or in the middle top of the center section above the pinion) either a 60 or 70 and maybe along with a couple other numbers or something...? thats my best guess as far as i can recall... Anyone else?

    The D60 has a 9.5" ring gear
The D70 has a 10.54" ring gear so it should be quite bigger.

There will be a 60 or 70 cast into the webbing of the center section. I think it's on the front of the lower right webbing. (if you're looking at the axle as it is installed in the truck). Alot of them have the number cast on top of the pinion but not all, the webbing number is always there.
