Is it a good deal or not and is kenwood a good brand?
Depends on what model. Kenwood makes some good equipment, and they make some junk. As far as Kenwood go's, I like thier Top of the line amps, and head-units. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
im not a fan of kenwood. they make some nice head units but the amps aint that great. im guessing that amp is gray with "600 watts" written on the top? well it doesnt push anywhere near 600 watts rms.
Don't get it. I had one and will never buy one again. I directly replaced it with a bazooka EL1500 and there was a noticable gain in quality. I wouldn't buy anything Kenwood. Buy audiobahn!
Let me put it this way. I sell them but WOULD NEVER suggest them. You do not get the power and the distortion is a bit unacceptable for my taste ;-)
go fosgate.all the stuff bought from them ran and sounded good.i had the kenwood comp speekers that sounded better than fosgates though,so you never know till you find someone whos tried the amp
Thanks for the help!! Mike
Buy a JL Audio amp. They are REALLY good. JL underrates them. Ive seen a 500W JL amp pushing 3 JL 12W3 subs. I think each one of those subs is rated at 600W but im not sure. All i know is it pushed 3 bad ass subs really hard.
JL is probably the best bang 4 ur buck.
I'd go with MMATS over a JL anyday. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
I have a 1000 watt Kenwood amp powering my subs. It sounds pretty good but like everyone else is saying, I've seen JL's and other brands that hit the same subs harder with quite a bit less power.
I'd pass. We always refered to the Kenwood amplifiers stated power as an "ILS" rating. "If Lightning Strikes" the power cable, you *might* get close to the stated power output. Personally, I like the older PPI, PG, Orion, ADS, and a couple others.
