Seems pretty good with my DSL....

I notice a few subtle changes....a small footnote when a post is submitted, and you can see exactly what people are looking at when you do a "Who's Online" thing now....

Overall, I'd say you've done well.....just keep those damn ISPs in line, and we'll be all set!!! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Most of the changes this time were admin type stuff but there are a few user stuff, I should mention that everyone has the option to turn off the "Who's online" thing that shows exactly what your doing.

it is still slow at peak times like last night when there were 60 members on and 15 anonymous users with that many people on i would click a post and it would not come up so i left and tried to come right back and could not get on for about 10min /forums/images/icons/frown.gif but other than that it rockes very fast most of the time /forums/images/icons/smile.gif i also like the new version /forums/images/icons/smile.gif /forums/images/icons/smile.gif /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

IMO, the speed has been ok for a while. When it works at all that is. The main problem is, it still disappears for hours at a time. I lost another post on Saturday evening. I've started typing my responses into another editor so that I don't loose all that work...

Just curious, would it be possible to get a schedule of down times? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif Seems to me it's most every evening for 1-2 hours, but a schedule would be nice...

Seriously though, aren't we supposed to be on the new "dedicated server" by now? Wasn't that supposed to happen by last Wed? And once or twice in the previous week? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif It seems to do ok for a few days after you "blow them out" so, maybe that needs to be scheduled as well? /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif Say every third day?

Sorry, couldn't resist razing you a bit. I'm sure you don't get enough harassment already so I wanted to help out.

The reason I'm asking, is some tweaks were made last night about 10:00 PM, so I guess my question is how has the site speed been since last night at 10PM? Yes, we are on the new server now, I have been giving them holy crap for the last two weeks and want to keep on them if this site goes down.

Yeah, thats a Netscape thing, it works fine in IE, Usally when this happens it means that the software is not using ending HTML tags, I am looking at other options for the gallery.

I noticed the banner ads are gone...did we lose the advertisers?

Site speed this morning seems real good.

I just took them off of the forums to help with the speed issues, sounds like you need to take a look at the rest of the site every once in a while. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Yeah, it's quite snappy this morning. "Proof of the pudding" will be this evening though. Good work Steve, and thanks for all your efforts to give us the best site possible.

I've read everything on the site a few times already.../forums/images/icons/smile.gif I never thought to go look for the advertisers though. Good to see they're still on board!

Seems better this morning considering high traffic Mondays.

And I wish the 'Who's Online' feature would not get to this detail: 96C4and91K5 - Sitting in boxers scratching his nuts.

    LOL

haha, I don't need that much detail either /forums/images/icons/wink.gif by the way that option can be turned off by everyone.
