650 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) is about the minumum. But I prefer batteries with higher CCA's to provide some extra reserve. Somewhere in the 900-1,000 CCA range. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

All the canister is is a a block of charcoal. My guess would be something wrong with the pumbing. What is supose to happen is it collects the vapors and then the vapors get sucked back into the engine and burned. So if your truck is carb then it's possible that the gas has over flown from the carb or there is a bad check valve.
Should be a diagram of the hoses stuck to the underside of the hood or on the core suport. It will show the check valves and such as well. once it's working correctly it should clear itself out.
