Blazer79 reporting in from Guatemala, Central America. I think that of all Blazer front clips ever made, the 79 is the most beautiful of them all.

I'm currently in the process of swapping in a 454.

Ok, mines a 78 but sold in 79. Does that count? I have a factory burgandy cheyenne with alum pin striping. Is there a difference in the 79?

I started with nothing and I still have most of that left! - Pictures

basicly stock 79'... the only mods are the 4" lift and 35"tires.... it's also still got the original motor, tranny, and t-case which are in dire need of overhauls... i'm not sure how much mileage i've got on the truck but it has rolled back over to 66,000 ... so given the age i'm guessin it's around 266,000 i was told it made a few trips to california from florida with the original owner back in the early 80's ..... that's why she's in rebuild status... damn i want to drive her......

BAD LUCK is better than no luck at all!!!!
Is it bad that my truck is older than my wife?
Edited by BAD LUCK 79' on 02/13/02 09:17 AM.

Well yes there is some difference [IMG] 79 got a different peice of lower grill trim. the holes below the grill are covered by it.It also go different head light bezels. The lower peice carried through 80. som 80's had square headlights.
Also not sure if this is unique to the 79. The lady's (wifes) 79 has a indicator light in the speedo to let you know when you have the t-case in LOC. I know this was not available in 75. anybody know when it became available? I can't say I have found another pre 80 with this feature but never really looked hard.

Wel this is what I know about the 79 whihc isnt to much. first year of the nice gas door, continued rear flip down seat, cheyenne and silverado packages available. trailer towing package with the famed 400 available . I think it was first year for it. new grille bezel, first year of the brushed alum look dash bezel. first year of the 4 wd light. first year of a 10 bolt front instead of a d 44 why i have no idea. I think there was a shortage. am I missing anything?

me!! me!!! Her name is Joleen and she gots a 383 stoker, built th350, welded and shaved 14FF, 8 lug 10bolt, 4" lift, 36 tsl's on 16" rims, swaybar disconnects, custom rear bumper and tire carrier, plus more goodies. [IMG]
I bought her stock with a 350/350. She's been an awsome truck! I love that body style! The only way to make it better, is to make it a full convertable....which is what I'm gonna do [IMG].
