Just curious. My friends have been telling me I need a tach, because I would be scared if I knew how many rpm`s I was running. Well I put one in and had it to 6k. July the fourth night at a party before I had the tach I would guess it was about 1k higher.

i've got a balanced and forged bottom end with soild lifters on the cam with a 406 and turned it 7800! before i got a crane ignition box with the limiter set at 6000 now. sometimes you got to give it hell to push through 4 1/2 feet of vegitated mud in front of all your buddies sometimes right /forums/images/icons/grin.gif i'm glad i paid all that money for my racecar buddie to come over and help me do the little things that keep a motor together. spent 5k all together on parts and labor ouch! its costed me alot more breakage down the road and made me spend more more money on other top quality parts to keep everything toghether.

On the highway I'm spinning about 3000 @ 60mph. I've gotten to 5500 climbing a sand dune but try to never get that high on a regular basis. I've got a quadrajet, edlebrock intake, fairly stock 350 and dual exhaust without h pipe and flowmasters.

I had the 502 upto 5000, but max rpm is 5800. I run at about 2300 cruising at 55, 4.56 gears w/ 39" boggers. Uh, gas mileage?..........7-8 with the wind at my back going downhill.
