I'm gonna spray paint my truck this weekend and was wondering if anyone has spray painted ALL the exterior (with top) and how many cans do I need? Thanks.

To get a couple good coat my guess would be 6 or 8 cans.

I didn't paint it ALL, but...... I used 10 cans, top 1/2 of my K5, not including the hardtop. You need alot if you want to do a decent job. Most of it winds up in the air, not on the truck[IMG]. A spray can is definately not a HVLP sprayer[IMG]

well i just painted mine and i must have used way to much paint. i changed the color from black to orange. after i lightly sanded it i used about 12 cans of primer and about 25 cans of orange to get the sort of even color coat. but i did two coats and the last coat was pretty heavy. i spent about $125 in all and that was including a sander and materials

OK, I finished both front fenders and it took a little over a can for a good first coat. Whew, was it hot!! 108 degrees!! Cooler in the shade but not by much. I'll try to get some pics up 7-23.
