There are 3 GM versions of the 203.

    1. The most common is the 27 spline which is mated to the 350 turbo tranny.

    2. The second common, but not too many of them, is the 32 spline mated to the 400 turbo.

    3. The least common, made only for 1 or 2 years, is the 10 spline mated to the 465 tranny.

yes you will need to do that, a 203 should look like a 203, so hmm..
does it have more ribs in the casting or something ??
dodge one ? ford one ?

and who in the heck is big ern ?

how could 10 spline 203 be uncommon ? the 32 spline 465 was not until 80 or 81, all the 203 cases for 465 should be 10 spline with the 203 being used during 73-79, or is it just because full time trucks rarely saw a 465 ?

    good luck

The 465/203 combo is rare because it was only used for 2 or 3 years (like 74-76 or so).

Some early 203's had a cast iron tail housing instead of the alum housing that later versions ran, that's the only major external difference we've run into. That's most likely what you're seeing.

Very few full time trucks had a 465, but they did exist. After that, the 465 trucks were all 205 cases until 81 or so when they came out with the 208 and of course all the rigs except the 1 tons got the 208.

oh early design, so that be like 73 74 then maybe 75 too, hmm.
now that i think about it i think theres one of these 203's under the 67 K10 for sale in town, he put it under there, said he got it from a blazer and had it rebuilt, i looked under and dont recall seeing aluminum tailhousing like usual yeah hmm

    interesting
