I just went and had an estimate.....My 90 is straight as an arrow no dents or rust but the clear coat is getting cloudy and cracking....they quoted be 2,600 bucks......My blazer is all black.....Just trying to see what the average cost of a full paint is...not custom just back to factory condition...thanks in advance

First off, you can't get it back to 'factory condition since they paint is baked on at the factory at a high temperature. The heat lamps that the body shops use can't duplicate this but you can get a nice paint job that'll last. With that said, I got an estimate to paint my truck for $5500 and that would be to strip it down to bare metal since the primer for my year truck bites. They also wanted my truck for 8 weeks ... I don't think so!! Depends on where you live and the quality of the job you are looking for.

'90 was one of the years GM was having a paint problem, so your paint job is gonna be more expensive cause they have to fix that. You might see about some other opinions, but that very well could be the right price cause they are gonna have to do some extra stuff besides just roughing up the old paint and shooting new paint on there.

It's been lovely, but I have to scream now.

My wife wouldn't let me park it in the drive way with just primer :-( . Besides the herculiner hides my body work :-) , and it's tough. I scrubbed it on a few rocks without damage.

Mine cost just under 800 clams, plus an extra $100 for shooting the bumpers. The body was pretty much straight, except for the passenger door (which the shop did a piss poor "cave and pave" job on).

    Dos mas Tecates!!!

I paid about $4500 CDN(about 2900 USD), but that included a new hood and new inner AND outer front fenders, as well as about 30 hours of body work. I went base with two coats clear in a two-tone scheme. My K5 doesn't see any tough offroad play since it's basically my wife's truck(I have a company truck), so when she got sick and tired of driving an ugly truck, I had no choice but to get it fixed up. It was worth it to keep her happy, and it's also nice to have the best looking Blazer in the area!!!!!

You can see pics of the paint either below or in the member's rides section............

Well, not sure of what you are looking for, but ask yourself what you are going to do with it after you paint it. In other words, if you are going to go crazy with it, don't spend so much on the paint. If you are just going to drive it on the street, go for the big-buck job. That being said, I paid 300 bucks at MAACO. I think the rookie painters practice with this price range. I did all the bodywork myself.

Constipated people don't give a crap!
