It has been posted a few months ago but I need to know that I am not the only one spending my paychecks on my truck. Hell, I spend so much on the truck, I have resorted to buying cheap beer. Now that is devotion or just stupidity.

I think I am around the $8,000 mark. A lot of the stuff I do is fabricated by myself so I save money. A true cheapa$$.

The Blazer is PRICELESS to me!

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you, just to make certain that you never leaked the info to my wife! [IMG] [IMG]

Just keeping tires on the K5, 2 Suburbans and the S-Jimmy is expensive. The other "stuff" really adds up as well. But I don't keep a tally, 'cause I don't think I really want to know. [IMG]

Lets see, $1800 for truck, less $600 for sale of engine and drivetrain, $2500 for original 350/300hp crate engine, less $1600 for sale of engine, $2200 for NV4500 conversion $3200 for 383 engine, less $2000 for sale of engine, $2400 for 427, $800 for D60 & 14BFF axles, $1000 for rims & tires, $900 for stereo system, $400 for seats, $500 for dash modifications, $650 for TSM disc brake conversion, $1000 for Warn 12k winch and bumper, $100 for steel to build rear bumper & swing away spare carrier, $300 for cowl induction hood, $400 for paint materials, $500 for carpet and misc. trim pieces, $250 for donuts, coffee, beer and hamburgers to feed my son for helping me build it. Also cost me my 68 Bronco, as it's his now for labor to build mine. Wife says she's glad it's my truck and not another woman in my life. I figure this is cheaper too!

and i haven't even bought the truck yet it's still my dad's!

I hear ya! I kept a log of EVERY penny that I spent on mine in the first couple of years that I had it. All the seemingly "little stuff" that you dont' think about, really starts to add up. Things that are below the financial pain threshold like plug wires, tune up parts, various bolts, nuts, etc. plus antifreeze, grease, u-joints, and on and on... The numbers get scary. [IMG]

$5000 in upgrades including engine so far. I still have about $1500 left in parts I need and $2000 for rims and tires. I figure right when I get everything done the tranny will crap out so I will swap in a TH400 and a np205 in the fall, there will be another $700-$1000 not to mention new driveshafts...

I cant imagine the thousands of dollars I have saved doing my own labor... That has been the best part of the entire hobby.

I got over $13,500 into Jedi Mind Trick, and around $8,000 into Insane Ewok. I'll have around $9500 into Isane Ewok before the bash.

Last year I put around $14k into it.... This year I need to take it easy so I can make it to the Bash in August... So I hope to stay under $5000 before then... =)

Still need:
Good spare, jack, bumpers, sliders, complete rear suspension, new bushings, front shackles... And that is what I can think of right now! [IMG] AND I am installing the SM465/NP205 hydro setup.... that should be fun... Finally, I'm buying the Edelbrock 1902 carb to finally ditch this Holley....

about 7,000 into the Jimmy, 9,000 into the burb, 7,000 into the firebird, and 4,000 into the GTO. That includes the price of the vehicles, but I got the firebird for free, and the Jimmy. I just bought a boat as well, I paid 4,000 for it, but its a flat bottom v-drive boat, so I will have more into it. It only does 85 mph right now.
