Would it be considered distasteful to create a private poll to see what the average joe makes an hour? Even if it would be private and nobody could see?
    ie., $5-10, $10-15, etc.

I hate to think about it by the hour. I am on salary. With the number of hours that I work it would be about $2.00/hour before taxes. :doah:

8 bucks an hour for me when I'm at the shop... I work for free at my wife's clinic because she'll soon be making enough for both of us. In 2.5 months of being in business, we have billed over $20000 in services.

If it really offended someone they would not have to vote. But also it may make a difference to what some of us do and where we are at. And the salery people it makes a difference how much overtime they work for there rate. Alot of the supervisiors do not make what us in maintenance make and when you start the overime with them on salery and us not it makes a big difference. I average 55 a week and these supervisiors don't like being asked "how much you makin' now" after an 11 hour day. :haha: Any way better than 19 would be over 20 if went to night with shift premium in Ga doing maintenance. Could make more if drove an hour to work in atl. Not worth it to me.

$24 an hr.... about 4 or 5 less than i think i should be making.. but who doesn't think that..

i pay my own insurance out of that.... and my boss is an A$$... :haha:

i don't believe in all that secretive cr*p at work over pay... its a way for bosses to pay everyone less... every employee should know what other employees make imo..

Everything in our carpenters union is out in the open. All a standard rate of pay with different rates for apprenteces, journeymen, formen, and superintendants. The apprenteces get paid on the percentage of trade school that they have completed.

    Formen: $32.50
    Journeymen: $30.00
    Apprenteces: $15.00 - $28.50

All of our benefits are deducted before these rates.

In other words, this is takehome pay before taxes.

A whopping $6.50 an hour as a swine research assistant (it's one of those jobs where you wash your hands BEFORE you go to the bathroom). I sure as hell don't do it for the money, it's just so I can put that magical word "research" on my veterinary school application.

$27 an hour, all benefits paid by my boss 100%. I also get a fairly regular diet of overtime at $40.50/hr...
