When you first purchase the vehicle- you pay $42.00 registratoin, $10 Title fee, $1.00 clean air fund (thanks CA)..and 5% of the selling price, (or KBB value, whichever is more)..then yearly after that its $43.00 (42 plus the 1 clean air)..Vanity plates are $20 per year, limited to 7 letters/numbers, and you have to "explain " the plate before you get it.

so my blazer KBB value was $1800- which was dropped down to $1200 ( cost me $60) because the mileage was not correct (I changed the dash)..then the 43 bucks, along with my $20 MUDNURI plate. so $123 for the first year. Inspectoin is $15.00 if it passes- or if your like me, you gotta pay "extra"..so that costs me $25.00 per year...

    not to shabby for Vermont.

I have to pay mine on Monday. Its like $48.00. In Fla there used to be an impact fee for bringing in a car or truck from another state. To the tune of $400.00! It was found to be unconstitutional or something like that and everyone that paid it over the few yrs it existed got a reimbursment check for it.

Now the registration for my Subaru is only $22.00. We dont have a tax due each yr like Mass. Ours goes by weight of the vehicle.

Now that would be unethical since my K5 isn't smog legal, except for testing time. Now, would it be unethical tell a ricer to "pop the hood?"

I've paid $80 for everything but my two Subarus... and haven't owned a vehicle for more than 8 months yet, so I don't know how much to renew /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
