Recently went over a scale and after jumping out my K5 was sitting at 5100lbs. Full tank of gas (27 gallons), stock (700/208) drivetrain, 33's, aluminum rims, hitch, and some stereo gear. It's a 88'. I'm mainly wondering because a buddy and I were having a conversation the other day about older early-md 70's having thicker franes and body panels. Obviously iron trannys and transfer case's make a difference but I was wondering how many of you have weiged and what you have found. Have a good one!

Displacement, cubes, and did you say you drive a riceburner???

I was at the local COOP one day and sat the '85 K30 on it. I can't remember exactly what it weighed, but it was either 5400 or 5600 lbs. with me out of it.
I had a regular K10 longbed once and it was 1000 lbs. lighter than the K30. Shows you how much difference there is between a K10 and 30. [IMG]

i had to weigh my 85 blazer a few months ago when i moved.
full tank of gas and me not in it, weighed in at 5000#.
this was before the lift, so it still had the 32" tires and steel wheels.

My Jimmy weighs 5700...that's with a soft top, and full tank of fuel (~28+gallons of fuel) and some trail tools.
Small block, SM 465, NP205 14 bolt FF rear, D44 front and 36" Swamper TSL's.

Hard to believe it weighs more than Wes's K30...BTW it's an 81.

I think my Jimmy's weight was 5400#'s with gear and no people, half to full tank. The burban was a whopping 6100 or 6300 #'s( called the 3 ton turd. or bronze brick)

Holy Crap! No wonder these things suck fuel! I have never weighed mine. Maybe I should. I had my last rig weighed as a joke. 79 Cherokee on 40's and 17 in. of lift, 4200#. I assumed the Blazer was close to that but I guess not.

My buddy had his truck weighed yrs ago. His was a short bed step side, on 44s w, 18 in. wide wheels, all 1 ton, w/ a BBC, w/ a dump bed set up, and tilt nose set up. He was just over 10,000 #. He even had the papers from the place that weighed it. He was trying to get it reregistered to get around lift laws after he seen how much it weighed. He knew it was up there but never thot he added that much weight to it. Alot of his extra weight came from the dump bed setup, ladder bars, and braces and mounts he had added

If ya can't stop.......Smile as you go under! [IMG]
