I have a 396, Fully machined never reasembled after machine work.
It was bored 30 over, and have TRW 11.5 to 1 pistons in the box with the rods hung. Crank refinished, Stock heads in good shape but not rebuilt. stock intake manifold, harmonic balancer etc.
Ran the specs on my desktop dyno and came up with 545 Hp with minor perfomance parts.
I was originally going to put this motor in my 68 Chevelle SS, But have decided to go all out on a 502.

Question: What do you think a motor like this would be worth?

If the price is right I will probably sell it or keep it for a spare for the blazer.

    Thank you.

Those 396's like you describe are going for about $20 or so, but if you want I'd give you $25 for it.

    Sorry...I couldn't resist.

You might be able to get about $1000 or so. BBs don't come cheap.

    $600-800

Depending. Stock heads are a dime a dozen if they are "peanut" ports. I have some I will practically give away.
