What would you guys pay for a used SM465 and NP205 case out of a 79 Blazer? Just curious as to what something like this is worth.

if you throw in linkages, driveshafts, pedals, bellhousing, etc I bet you could get a LOT more than $300.... some people are asking $300 just for a 205 (and most people wont knowl the diff between a course splined 205 (sm465) and a fine splined unit)

Paid $200 for my well used 465/205 combo, with adapter and both driveshafts from a K5. Adapter was broken (didn't notice at the time) so another $100 there. The reality is there are millions of 205's out there, they don't break, so supply isn't dwindling rapidly, the same with the 465. Neither are REALLY worth as much as some want for them, its just what some people are asking or paying that has raised the price in some cases.

Why insist on counting when the ring gear has the tooth counts stamped in?

I paid $650 for a 465/205, with driveshafts, bellhousing, all linkage, pedals, shifters, and crossmember.

I've seen them in the 250-450 range. I would not want to pay more than 250 for the set for a 465/205, for a auto/205 that is a different story. I've been seing prices for a 27spline 205 for around 200 by itself, but then again I would not want to pay more than 250 for the set.

It all comes down to how much you are willing to pay. I've found 2 4x4 3/4 tons for under 300 each with complete running gear.

seek and you shall find, a good price.
