I just want to know how much yall spent on yalls rig since yall bought it. Basically I just want to feel better with myself b/c I bought my rig last year and already put over $5000 into it. And that is not including the cost of the truck. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but damn, that's a lot of money. And people wonder why I drink cheap beer.

Almost nothing, if I see something I like I make it/butcher it. Traded a blown out old pickup for my stock cherry BLAZER. Its not the best or prettiest but she usually goes.
But I just got a '74 in need of SOME resto, so I dont look forward to this "cheap beer" thing.

I bought my 86 with 113,000 on it for 1300.00 .Since it has been just the little stuff...brakes...heater core. I put in stereo speakers, subs...and replaced a bunch of nickle dime stuff that wears out in time that most folks overlook. That is just beause I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist. Now for May when my annual lottery check gets here...Boss has my seats and smittybilt and LMC and J.C.Whitney have a bunch of things I plan on getting.plus the new 330 hp 350 crate motor...and headers...flow this and flow that....damn am I broke yet...

Let see I just figured this out the other day. 78 Chevy Blazer how much can someone put in it? $5000? $10,000? Well Im up tho 13,000 and not done yet! The truck is almost all new or rebuilt. I figured if I went out and bought it all again without wheeling and dealing it's up to $17,000. I guess I made your day or blew it depending if your planing to spend as much as I have!!!! But ya gotta love 'em

84 Blazer bought in 88 for $6700. Paint, 350 TPI, 3 Trannys, Rebuilt Transfer, 12 bolt, Interior, Stereos(more than one thanks to stuff falling aprt and crooks) and all of the "round to it stuff". About 10K and still adding. But my 3 yr old son love trucks and he loves to ride in the back with the Top-OFF.

I was going to just say "too much" but then I started thinking and adding things up. You don't relize how much you spend over the years but it really adds up! Still less than a new SUV.

    Since 1991:

    $10000 - Initial purchase in 91 (don't laugh)
$2000 - 350 Rebuilt and stroked to 383 (blew that one up)
    $500 - used 454 (mains went out)
$1600 - New GM crate 454 (keeping fingers crossed)
    $250 - used 14 bolt rear axle
    $300 - Detroit Locker
    $500 - Muncie 465 4 spd
    $300 - 205 transfercase
    $300 - cowl hood
    $300 - 91 grill
$2500 - bodywork, paint and graphics
    $1200 - tires/wheels
    $1000 - 12000lb winch
    $500 - Warn front bumper
    $900 - Dana 60 front axle
    $300 - crossover steering
    $400 - headers/exhaust
    $600 - Lift
    $200 - Shocks (new RS-9000)
    $400 - stereo/amp/speakers
    $225 - rollbar
    $175 - twin stick shifter
    $200 - 1 ton driveshafts
$300 - AGR steering box and pump
$1600 - New MPI fuel injection system (needs installed)

    Total= $26550

YIKES!!! Hope my wife doesn't see this...

$5500 = initial purchase price 3 months ago (106000 miles)
$500 = rear brakes, cylinders, yada-yada (was cramped for time and other options)
$70 = glasspack and mandral pipe and install
$200 = new radiator, belts, hoses, clamps, fluid, etc

$6270 so far (but I need a new battery so add another $100 or so)

Even the highest priced reply so far ($17,000?) ain't bad considering my co-worker just bought a new Tahoe for over $30,000...and it's not nearly as nice as the replies with all the mods these guys have put on their rigs...

Original price of truck in 1995 - $5000
Full on interior - Flofit seats, etc. - $1500
Stereo - had parts of it already - $250
    Centerline with BFG 33" tires - $800
    Sunroof - $250 installed
    Cell phone install - $100
'87 IROC TPI with heads and installation - $1000
    140 Amp Alternator - $200
    Pro Comp 130 watt lights - $80
Gauge cluster with tach (THanks Zack!) - $40
    2.5" lift springs - front - $200 installed
Auburn Posi in rear - $300 installed
Shocks (4 Rs 5000 and dual steering stabilizer) - Apx. $200
Various items - would estimate another $500

Oh, about $10,200........easily. Not counting what is on the wish list.......4" springs ($200), rear springs with velvet rides OR shackle flip ($300), posi in front 10 bolt with ORD type upgrades for strength, etc., etc. Hear a rod knock in the 406 small block, if that is an indication, a $2000 330 horse crate motor is probably in my future.......on and on. BUT, as someone said, and I once said to my wife, beats a $400 truck payment with little to no smile factor like my rig gives me.........

We are all addicted psycho K5 nuts, gotta admit it!

    '79 - 406 w/IROC TPI - K5#5 - a <font color=orange>sickness[IMG] <font color=blue>you never get enough of!! [IMG]

Do we really want to think about how much we've spent? Wouldn't we be better off thinking about what we still want to spend instead? :)
