well its coming up on my 1 year anniversary with my k5 (jan 3). lookin back on all teh recipts of the things i bought over the past year for it, i was shocked. when i first got the truck, i was just going to do lift and tires with the stock 10b's. i guess thats how it always starts. i then got hooked on ck5, and bought 3/4 ton axles, gears, locker, and cross-over steering. from there i decided to jus get a d60 front (decided i was gonna go with bigger shoes that originally planned), convert 14b to disc's, hydro-assist, and a HAD rear cv driveshaft. and ive still got alot more to do. i've put in around $4500 so far, and probably need about another $2k into it.

    how much have you spent?

what makes me sad is that once we put all this $$ into out rigs, they still arent worth crap. guess it jus confirms that im never going to get rid of mine...at least all the aftermarket parts, they will live on the next chevy when this one is gone.

    More of my Calculations:

    Truck Blazer Cost $600
sold axles out of it for 300, tranny SM465 w/bad synchros sold for 80, motor went into a Suburban which I sold so works out so I got like say 220 bucks for the motor.

Spent $100 on another tranny that worked good, $675 for winch and bumper, $300 for 8" lift, rear end with Detroit ends up being about $250, front end, about $550, light bar $15, 16.5x12 rims I got on a trade, 40" tires I kept off a Suburban I parted out, rear driveline $100. Currently has no motor... so I have about $2000 into this minus a motor.

Orange Blazer, $400... sold tranny and T-case for $220, traded off old motor and axles for about $230 value... paint job and misc about $50, rear 14-bolt with Detroit about $300, front Dana 60 about $350 or less, the 465/205 that was in it... maybe $250, 454 that was in it last about $350, 3" Flowmaster Exhaust $300, winch was free off a Scout I sold, $300 for tires... so when it was complete and ran last I had about $1900 into this running and driving with 1 454/465/205/14BFF/Dana60/7" lift/35" Swampers/Warn 8274.

Blue '84 K5 Blazer... traded a $1000 1978 1/2 ton 4x4 for it, sold the tranny for $150, axles for $300... I don't want to go through this all again but when it ran and looked like this with a SB400 and 3/4 ton axles and 465/205 and winch it was still under $2000. But right now its minus motor and axles again but still shouldn't top much over 2000 when its going again if I do it right.

I'm tired of doing math right now. Thats all for now that I feel like calculating.
