Who's replaced them?
How much did you pay for new/used?
Where do you buy new ones?
send yours over to WTOR and have them rebuild it. IME, rebuilt ones cost about $100 so you can have one rebuilt and tapped for only $50 more.
I bought mine from autozone for 180. sounds like the other guy has a cheaper way!
$169.99 with a $150 core charge...guess what i did today?
oh yeah, thats from O'Reilly's
Uhhh if it's leaking you can usualy fix it for about $11 and fluid.
Grim.. that was a vague fix...
What costs $11 to fix a steering box?
It's the lock nut on the adjustment screw where it's leaking from.
Could I just replace the top portion "adjustment" part with a donor?
Hmmm never saw one leak there. Probably a o-ring in there that's bad. My bet is a under $10 repair.
Take it appart and see. Just be sure to count the turns it takes to remove the alenn bolt. You can over tighten those and have a problem.
I have a shop manaual with stuff on the box. I'll take a look at it tonight and see how it seals.
txbluethunder and I got it fixed.. it doesn't appear to be leaking anymore.. Just readjusted it, then cranked back down on the lock nut... it's been leak free for 2 days now.
Thanks to Russell also.. and thanks for taking care of wyatt while we wen't to Waco. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
